Jewish Primary Day School of the Nation’s Capital Admission Associate

Jewish Primary Day School of the Nation’s Capital (JPDS-NC), the only Jewish day school in Washington, D.C. is a rapidly growing independent, community Jewish day school, providing 275 elementary school students with a strong foundation in Jewish and general studies education. JPDS-NC inspires students to become lifelong learners who are knowledgeable, responsible citizens, deeply committed to the community, to values, and to the state of Israel. JPDS-NC seeks a full-time Admission Associate to support the exciting work of the Office of Admission to manage and advance inquiries, applications, and enrollment. The associate assists in overall enrollment management including admission, retention, outplacement, and re-enrollment. The associate reports directly to the Director of Admission and provides administrative and clerical support to the Director of Admission and will assist in advancing admission to the school. The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and will be warm, friendly, organized, and capable of working independently. Responsibilities Include: • Guiding prospective families through the admissions process • Leading tours of the campus • Serving as lead staff point and marketing person for all events associated with the Admission Office(open houses, new family events, community fairs) • Developing marketing materials online and in print, including view books, flyers, brochures, Facebook, Twitter, and Constant Contact • Updating and working on the design of the admission page of the website • Maintaining the admissions calendar (scheduling tours, applicant visits, applicant testing, parent interviews, admission ambassadors) • Working with admission ambassadors and developing an ambassador program • Maintaining various databases and files, including admission, financial aid, and outplacement • Creating and maintaining admission reports that track history, trends, and current data • Processing and maintaining enrollment and re-enrollment packets • Taking photographs at events and as needed • Conducting clerical work including filing, typing, copying, collating mailings, and other general office work • Supporting volunteers and maintaining positive relationships with all constituents • Providing other assistance on as needed basis, including administrative duties in office • Supporting the school and its leadership Skills and Qualifications: • Excellent writing and editing skills • Event planning experience • Graphic design skills and ability to create and review marketing materials • Mastery of MS Office Suite (including Word, and Excel) and experience in mail merge( skills in Photoshop and InDesign a plus) • Proficiency with database technology, preferably PCR • Ability to work independently and multi-task with high degree of project and time management capacity • Website design and/or maintenance skills • Enthusiasm for the mission of the school and for Jewish day school education • Strong understanding of electronic communications using both school-based website tools and social networks • Ability to handle confidential materials and situations with discretion and sensitivity • Eagerness and ability to professionally interact with prospective and current parents • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours • Ability to complete multiple operational tasks • Initiative, confidence, and joy Salary and Benefits • Competitive entry level position • Excellent benefits including medical, dental, Metrocheck, and vacation • Full time position Send resume, cover letter, writing sample, and two references to Sindy Udell, Director, Office of Admission, at sindy.udell@jpds.org.
