Canfei Nesharim - Intern
Canfei Nesharim: Sustainable Living Inspired by Torah (www.canfeinesharim.org) is seeking an intern to work 6 hours per week in a spring internship that will build your Jewish and environmental knowledge, your professional skills, and your resume! This is an internship for Jewish environmentalists who are interested in social media networking. Interns will work on Jewcology.com, an exciting new social media portal serving the Jewish-environmental community worldwide. Jewcology.com enables Jewish-environmentalists to meet, share program resources, blog, and form intentional communities on topics of common interest. Jewcology launched on November 29, and we are seeking an intern to help with the first phase of the live site, including promotional opportunities, improvement of networking,
and communicating with new members. Your help will be a true contribution in the start-up phase of this important
project. The intern must be able to work at least 6 hours per week during business hours on Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday. Work can be done in Canfei Nesharim's office in Silver Spring, MD or via phone and internet. This internship includes a small stipend of $400 for the semester. The best applicants will have: Familiarity with social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube; Familiarity with online tools such as Google documents; Good communications skills; Experience with Jewish learning and familiarity with Jewish texts; Interest in environmental protection and familiarity with common environmental challenges such as those related to energy, water, or food. The following skills are helpful but not required: Basic editing of podcasts and/or online videos; Basic HTML coding knowledge; Familiarity with Google Analytics.
